Deepa

Deepa takes care of user interface design at Milaap. Besides UI, she contributes to SEO and site compliance with W3C standards.

Deepa came to Milaap from Experience Commerce, where she designed micro-sites, social media campaigns, and websites for clients like The Times of India Group, Mitsubishi, and Aviva. She was also integral to the design of an award-winning campaign - The Great Driving Challenge - winner of IDMA Gold and Webby Silver award. She continues to work on independent UI design projects in India, USA, UAE, and Europe.

When Anoj witnessed first-hand the impact of a $10 solar lantern, sold on credit, to the extremely poor in tribal Orissa, it sparked in him the idea for Milaap - to connect with ease the struggling 700 million people of India with prosperous Indians and the Diaspora, thus, creating opportunities that change the playing field for the poor at an everyday level.

Deepa is currently pursuing a Masters' in User Interface Design at City College, London.

peixin

Peixin is our PR intern from the National University of Singapore. In her second year of university, pursuing a degree in Social Sciences, she’s on a six-month break to work with Milaap. She enjoys travelling, shopping and trying out different cuisines. Within a couple of months of arriving in India, she’s been on a few field trips as well as trips to Goa, Mumbai and Hampi. Inspired by Milaap, she took it upon herself to raise funds to build toilets in Tamil Nadu through her personal network (lendatoilet.causevox.com) and made a short documentary on her field trip experience.

After her graduation, she would like to start a business of her own. Guess that’s what happens if you hang out too much with our founders…
